À propos de Benedict
I graduated from Cambridge in 2019 with a First in English. As well as a year assisting the drama department at a leading independent secondary school, I have taught English and Latin in state primary schools in London and Versailles, France. I have given workshops on Shakespeare in universities across the USA, Oxbridge interview practice to students in China, South Korea, and Japan, and helped tutees taking the 11+ gain entrance to their chosen school.

Boosting self-confidence and linguistic awareness is hugely rewarding.
For instance, when teaching Latin, I encourage an etymological approach to vocabulary from the get-go: my students quickly gain the confidence to forge links between Latin words and their Romance counterparts (e.g. 'amicus' in Latin and 'amigo' in Spanish), rather than going straight to the glossary.
Rather than giving up when confronted with something unfamiliar, it’s about finding a viable angle from which to approach a problem.
This ‘angle’ will differ from individual to individual, so I like to begin tuition by establishing the learning methods a student finds most useful: spider diagrams are not for everyone!
