J'adorerais aider les gens qui sont en train de venir étudier / vivre dans le province de Québec au Canada. Je sais qu'il y a beaucoup d'immigrants qui arrivent dans ma ville depuis quelques années. Je trouve cela fascinant de la voir progresser et prendre en maturité au fil du temps. Elle a une capacité de concentration et d'apprentissage remarquable. Elle est d'ailleurs grandement en avance sur son âge et sur le programme scolaire. Elle se débrouille par ailleurs très bien avec son ordinateur et Internet.
Tel que souhaité, nous pratiquons beaucoup la conjugaison des verbes à tous les temps et nous faisons beaucoup de compréhension de lecture (ce qui implique également au passage l'apprentissage de nombreux nouveaux mots de vocabulaire ainsi que le perfectionnement de la prononciation lorsque nécessaire).
Elle parle et lit très bien; elle prononce les mots avec fluidité et justesse (elle arrive d'ailleurs à reproduire impeccablement les sons qu'elle entend) et elle semble avoir saisi instinctivement le rythme et l'intonation de la langue française.
Si elle ne connaît pas un mot ou ne comprend pas quelque chose, elle le dit. Elle est curieuse et elle aime apprendre, surtout quand c'est en s'amusant. J'adore voir son visage s'illuminer lorsque quelque chose capte son intérêt et/ou l'amuse particulièrement, comme lorsqu'elle réalise que la phrase que je viens de lui donner en exemple est (volontairement) complètement loufoque.
Enjouée, souriante, mignonne, gentille, douce, douée... tant de qualités dans ce petit être! ;-) Elle n'aura pas de mal à se faire des amis ni à avancer dans la vie!
Ashviineey est en outre une fillette épanouie, heureuse et équilibrée. Cela se voit que ses parents prennent bien soin d'elle. Sa mère Josephiine est une maman aimante et dévouée. Outillée de ses propres connaissances du français et d'une gamme de matériel pédagogique, elle accompagne Ashviineey dans son apprentissage. Elle se fait discrète lors des séances, tout en étant toujours là en cas de petit pépin technique ou autre. I took French immersion in school a number of years ago but my French was pretty rusty and I wanted to become more comfortable using French at work. I have taken lots of French courses as an adult but didn't find that I was getting better at understanding others and being understood in real life. You really can't beat one on one practice and if you want to improve your French for everyday life/work - I highly recommend Émilie! Don't waste your time and money on a group course because there's not a lot of time for each student to practice speaking in a classroom setting, the lessons are very grammar focused and a lot of times the teacher is from France, where the vocabulary is very different from what's commonly used in Canada (both in a casual setting and at work).
Émilie has hugely helped me to understand French in Canada and I can't say enough good things about her. If you're going to spend time learning French, you want the result to be that you are able to communicate comfortably (not just conjugate verbs on a page) and you want it to be fun so you stick with it and it doesn't feel like a chore. Émilie has a great sense of humour and I always look forward to our weekly lessons! Like they say, if you don't use it, you lose it and I feel very lucky that I found Émilie - I finally feel like my French is improving and I'm much more comfortable speaking French. Elle connaissait déjà bien le français lorsqu'elle m'a contactée il y a 9 mois mais elle souhaitait, d'une part, mieux comprendre ses collègues québécois, et d'autre part, mieux s'exprimer en français, de sorte que ces derniers n'aient plus l'impression de devoir parfois changer leur façon de parler afin de s'assurer qu'elle comprenne bien.
Après avoir fait un tour d'horizon des particularités du dialecte québécois, nous nous sommes concentrées sur la prononciation et surtout l'intonation française, dans le but d'atténuer son accent anglophone. J'ai été impressionnée par la rapidité de ses progrès à ce sujet lors de ses lectures à voix haute. Je débordais d'enthousiasme, de fierté et d'émerveillement chaque fois que, même en écoutant avec la plus grande des attentions ce qu'elle disait, je ne trouvais aucune trace d'accent qui trahirait son origine anglophone.
Nous nous sommes ensuite affairées à transposer ces nouvelles aptitudes dans la communication orale spontanée, à corriger les quelques fautes de français restantes et à continuer d'enrichir son vocabulaire québécois.
Dernièrement, nous faisons principalement de la conversation libre. Cela fait déjà un bon bout de temps que je lui parle comme je parle dans ma vie francophone de tous les jours (sans modifier ni mon français, ni mon québécois ;-) et ce, avec la confiance qu'elle me suit. Il y a bien sûr de petits moments de doutes ou d'incompréhension mais ceux-ci se font rares et ne viennent aucunement compromettre la fluidité de nos conversations.
Le fait que je puisse rester spontanée facilite grandement nos échanges et laisse davantage place aux nuances, à la profondeur et/ou à l'humour (parfois un luxe qu'on ne se permet pas lorsqu'on se bute à des limitations linguistiques), ce qui a tôt fait de favoriser la proximité et la complicité entre nous.
Il est certain qu'il en sera de même avec ses collègues québécois, que ce soit lors des échanges professionnels ou lors des discussions informelles à l'heure des pauses. (Vu les circonstances exceptionnelles actuelles, Katie n'a malheureusement pas encore vraiment eu l'occasion de reparler à ses collègues... Mais la surprise n'en sera que plus grande au retour! J'imagine déjà la tête qu'ils feront à l'entendre parler comme ça « du jour au lendemain » ! :-)

I would definitely recommend working with Emilie! I did 10 sessions with Emilie practicing for an interview in French. We did mock-interviews that helped me practice my comprehension of French, as well as my speaking skills on the spot. When we started our sessions, I felt that my French skills were quite beginner. By the end of our sessions, after all of the practice we did, I felt much more confident in my French abilities. Definitely recommend!
Faz 4 anos que vivo em Quebec e senti a necessidade de melhorar minha pronúncia de algumas palavras e sons. It was an occasional chance that I went on the website to randomly search French tutor and I saw her name. Honestly it may be the best decision I made this year to have her as my French tutor for OQLF exam preparation.
I took some French courses in the past years in different institutions (i.e. university courses with credit, government subsidized French course and immigration courses in some language schools). But none of them gave a personalized study plan.
Since I don’t have chance to practise French in daily life, my French level decreased to almost 0, not even talking about passing a French exam in the specific professional area. Émilie helped me to refresh all of the grammar I learnt before in a very short period. She’s very very patient and kept pointing out the errors I made during our conversation (even though I kept making the same error). But I think I’ll never forget to add “de” between “c’est facile” and the verb. :)
She also corrected the vocabulary to ensure I use more accurate words in the sentences. It’s very important especially for Anglophone as we always want to use an English word in the French conversation and think it’s the appropriate one.
In addition, she’s always helpful even after the class. I appreciate the extra time she put in to correct my writings before class.
She also did a mock exam right before the exam date which I believe is the key factor contributing to the final success.
All is to say, I really appreciate her help and I would recommend her to my friends who need to improve their French.Émilie is a kind and helpful teacher. She will work with you to achieve your specific goals and makes learning fun with her conversation skills and sense of humour.

Language learning is always hard. I do not know how many times I have tried learning a language and given up.
Émilie is one of the most patient instructors I have come across. She has an excellent command of many languages, thus extremely helpful in learning a new language. Her teaching methods are exceptional as she adjusts the course based on your learning capabilities.

I live in Hamilton, and I am in first year at McMaster University. It was exam season, and I was studying mostly for Chemistry and Math. After I finished the exams, I had my French exam in a few days, and I really wasn't ready for it. I asked many tutors online for help, and they all said that it was too ''last minute'', she was the only tutor to accept to help me, she was a real life saver. Já posso dizer que é uma professora excelente. Ela prepara aulas muito dinâmicas e divertidas. O tempo voa!
É muito profissional, atenciosa, paciente, boa de papo e motivadora.
Em pouco tempo, já aprendi muito francês e também sobre cultura, política e sociedade do Quebec. Descobri muitas séries, vídeos e sites legais da província.
Além do francês, ela domina o inglês e o português, o que ajuda nas explicações. Ela é muito precisa nas correções, o que ajuda a errar cada vez menos.
Altamente recomendável.I had to practice my French for a last minute interview so I randomly reached out to Emilie without expecting much. However, it was an extremely pleasant experience! She's very down to earth and extremely patient, I actually had fun while learning. I had the sense that she immediately understood where I needed to improve and tailored all my courses with her in a way that was so beneficial for my interview and for employment in general. I would strongly recommend her as a french tutor if you're looking to learn the language or become fluent. As a matter of fact, I will definitely be returning to her for more practice in the future!
