Hi! I’m Liam. I’ve been a professional educator for over a decade. I hold a CELTA, a PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education), and QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) from the UK. This means I’ve spent my career studying not just what to teach, but the science of learning.
I’m a native English speaker. I grew up in Australia and studied at university in the UK (Bath Spa University).
I’ve studied Portuguese to an advanced level and French to an intermediate level, so I know exactly how it feels to be in your shoes. Both my professional training and my own experience with tutors have shown me what truly builds confidence. I know how important it is to have a teacher who encourages you to speak, senses when you are struggling, and steps in to provide support at the right moment.

I help you build confidence through evidence-based, communicative pedagogy. Through rigorous diagnostic assessments and targeted resources, every lesson is strategically structured to maximize your active speaking time and build confidence.
My university research focused heavily on Formative Assessment. In our lessons, this means I utilise a professional toolkit of evidence-based strategies to constantly assess your progress and adapt my teaching in real-time. I’m not just following a textbook; I am actively adjusting the lesson to bridge your specific gaps as they appear.
The Communicative Approach: my goal is to maximise your opportunities to speak. Why? Because fluency is a skill you only improve through practice. I use only high-quality, trusted materials that present English in a natural, real-world context.
