À propos d'Elizabeth-Louise
I love working with people. Most of my working life has been as either a teacher (I started as a piano teacher) or in business. I have been an account manager, sales manager, merchandiser, buyer and head of product development. I worked in the textile and jewellery businesses and lived in London, Hong Kong and now France. I even owned a pub and restaurant in the UK countryside for a few years.
My experience is therefore varied!
My degree is in psychology and I think that's why I can help my students find the best way forward in their learning. I understand. But also, I am a student myself. I'm trying to learn French and it is hard to manage work and study. I really do empathise.
Lessons are fun (we will laugh!) as well as informative. I help you to find the best method for your learning style plus encourage and motivate you on your learning experience. Think of me as your language mentor. Your success is my success and we are a team. I will support you all the way.
I am a relaxed teacher and will never berate you for not doing your homework! Everyone is busy and I understand the challenges of studying whilst working. It's all about time-management, which is actually one of the subjects we discuss!

Every lesson with me has a different short story (for example a story about an important meeting) as the centre for discussion and conversation. You will see the new vocabulary and practise it in context. We will practise conversations together and you will continue this practice between sessions so that we can build your speaking confidence and knowledge of the language together.
We work on all the skills during a lesson: reading, writing, listening and speaking, but with extra time on speaking because this is the biggest challenge for every student.
Sometimes I help students prepare for a presentation, maybe an email they need to write, occasionally, I have helped them to translate information, documents or other media that they need for work. Whatever you need.
My degree is in psychology and I use this as well as my native English skills to carry my students through a course and onto success. I guarantee you will feel the improvement in your English language skills in just a few hours with me.
