Hello!
My name is Dimitris, a freelance MQL5 developer and tutor based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Although I spent 10+ years studying hard to become a specialist in Cancer Immunotherapy, three years ago I had the itch for learning something completely foreign to my field of expertise.
As such, during the final years of my doctoral degree, I could not resist giving algorithmic trading a shot!
Well, it did not take long for me to discover the beauty and elegance of coding, particularly when applied to come up with trading algorithms built to mimic human intuition and learning.
In short, I fell in love with that subject and have not stopped coding since!
In total, I have spent two years focusing exclusively on not only becoming technically adept at coding trading algos in MQL5, but also on conceiving, thoroughly designing, and developing from scratch complex MQL5 code modules before incorporating them into my self-learning trading algo.
This experience has adequately prepared me to not only assist others with building their trading algos on a freelance basis, but also to teach this subject to those brave enough to take the leap.
In others, I love seeing openness to new ideas, especially when combined with a proof-based, methodical and comprehensive way of thinking.
Finally, I enjoy hitting the gym as well as going on hikes by the serene lake Leman.

-Who is this tutoring service for?
Those genuinely excited about spending some of their free time, as a hobby, trying to develop trading algos that can “learn” by processing past price data, predict with relative safety how the price will move in the short-term, and take trades on their behalf.
-Are there any prerequisites for this tutoring service?
You will hit the ground running even without any prior exposure to coding, math, or finance. However, it would be super beneficial if you are already good at a), analytical and well-structured thinking b), coming up with imaginative solutions c), detecting patterns within a sea of information
Who is this tutoring service NOT for?
-Anybody who naively expects that a few weeks of part-time work are enough to come up with an algo that will support them financially for the rest of their lives. Anybody to whom it is not crystal clear that even years of full-time devotion do not guarantee the development of a profitable algo.
-Where does the value of this tutoring service lie?
The real value of this tutoring service does not lie within the essential coding or finance-related knowledge that you will receive. The juice is in the practical concepts that will be shared with you as well as in the feedback you will receive while attempting to implement some of them.
-What is the minimum recommended degree of commitment?
To ensure meaningful progress, it is recommended that we hold at least one tutoring session per week and for each of those, you devote at least 5 hours to complete self-study objectives and practical exercises.
-What is the recommended structure of the tutoring sessions?
a) 15M: Discussion of trading- or coding-related questions
b) 15M: Thorough discussion about the code that you will produce within the context of the practical exercises :-)
c) 20M: Demonstration of new coding concepts and discussion about them
d) 10M: Discussing objectives for the next session
-Can additional people join the tutoring session for free?
Absolutely. If you have friends with whom you wish to share the class, they can join without any extra charge. However, given that throughout these sessions we will mainly discuss your/your friends' code, there should not be more than 3 "students" following at the same time.
-Am I an expert at coding, financial markets, or financial modelling?
Hell no. I hold a Ph.D. in Cancer Immunotherapy which could not be further away from coding, finance, or financial modelling. As such, I am far from your best option to help you grasp these subjects in proper depth or in a professional manner. I code out of passion.
