À propos de Damien
I am a former diplomat, having served in the political team in the Australian embassy in Moscow (2016-19) and worked as an international lawyer, trade negotiator and foreign policy advisor (2012-15).
I was also the Head of Global Engagement and Head of Trade and Investment (2019-23) at the International Chamber of Commerce, headquartered in Paris, where I was the principal policy advisor to the Secretary-General.
I have learned several languages -- French, Russian and Italian -- and have significant international business and diplomatic experience.
I have recently founded a consulting firm specialising in geopolitical risk.
I am not a professional teacher and I will not use boring texts, make you go through grammar rules, or give you significant amounts of homework.
What I will do is have interesting conversations about international affairs as a way to expand your vocabulary, improve your fluency and boost your confidence so that you can -- like I have done for over a decade -- work effectively at the international level.

Talking with a professional native speaker on a regular basis is the quickest and most effective way to refine your skills, improve your confidence, and become persuasive in a foreign language.
Each course, we discuss a specific topic in international affairs. I provide background material. I ask you questions and we begin a conversation. I will gently correct you when you make mistakes, take notes of how you can sound more like a native speaker, and give you specific vocabulary to take your English to a truly professional level.
I myself have learned French, Russian and Italian to a professional proficiency as an adult -- and I use the techniques that helped me while avoiding methods that waste your time and provide few returns.
