Hello! I am a Paris-based American lawyer living and working in Paris for the last 6 years. For the last two years, I have been giving lessons to students in American English in Paris. I focus on students with an intermediate or advanced level of English who are looking to perfect their English (especially Parisian professionals in the business and legal sector).
I work with my students individually to tailor lessons to meet their needs. However, here are some examples of what a typical 1.5 hour lesson will look like: We go through an American newspaper article together, read it out loud, work on pronunciation, and define any unclear terms. I also give examples of how those words could be used in different contexts. You may be asked to watch a documentary (on your own time) and prepare me a summary and we will discuss it at our next meeting. Anytime you make a mistake, I will correct you. These exercises are intended to strengthen oral/written English (speaking and comprehension) and to get you comfortable debating current events in English. Depending on your interests, the subjects covered in the lesson can be tailored to meet your needs.
