À propos de Grigoris

Grigoris Theodoridis – Jazz Double Bass Teacher & Performer Hello, I’m Grigoris Theodoridis, a professional jazz double bass player from Greece, with over 15 years of performance experience and a deep passion for music education. I hold a diploma from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (2016) and am currently pursuing my Master's at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing at over 2000 concerts, including major European jazz festivals and international stages in China, Japan, and the USA. I’ve shared the stage with many esteemed musicians from around the world, including Tony Lakatos, Jury Stanik, Gilad Atzmon, George Kontrafouris, Takis Paterelis, Lex Korten, Enzo Zirilli, and Kristin Berardi, among many others. I’ve also been fortunate to learn from some of the most respected figures in jazz. I studied with the legendary bassist Ron Carter and Dutch bassist Clemens van der Feen, and I’ve attended workshops and lectures by incredible musicians such as Larry Grenadier, Brad Mehldau, Mark Guiliana, Jeff Ballard, Enrico Pieranunzi, Alan Broadbent, David Liebman, and Orlando Le Fleming. In 2023, I released my debut album, Green of Silence, featuring Hungarian drummer Attila Gyarfas and Greek pianist Orestis Petrakis, available on all major digital platforms and for physical purchase. As a teacher, I bring my extensive performance experience and a deep understanding of jazz theory and technique to every lesson. I aim to help my students find their unique voice on the instrument, whether they are just beginning or seeking to refine their skills. My lessons are tailored to meet individual needs, with a focus on both technical development and creative musical expression. Let's explore the world of jazz together!

My Teaching Approach: I focus on creating a personalized, engaging learning experience for each student. Whether you're a beginner or more advanced, I tailor lessons to suit your individual needs and goals. For beginners, I emphasize building a strong technical foundation—focusing on technique, rhythm, and basic theory. As students progress, I introduce more advanced concepts like improvisation, jazz harmony, and ear training, always encouraging creativity and self-expression. I believe learning music is about more than just technique—it's about feeling and communicating through the instrument. I combine practical exercises with real-world applications, ensuring you not only understand the theory but can also play and improvise with confidence. Lesson Length & Structure: Lessons are typically 60 minutes, but I’m flexible depending on your needs. My Qualifications & Experience: I hold a diploma from the Royal Conservatory of The Hague (2016) and am currently pursuing my Master’s at the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Brussels. I’ve performed in over 2000 concerts worldwide and studied with respected musicians like Ron Carter and Clemens van der Feen. Who Are the Lessons For? I teach all levels and ages—from beginners on electric or double bass to advanced players seeking to refine their technique and creativity. My goal is to help you grow as a musician in a relaxed, supportive environment.
