À propos de Raphael
Raphael was from a young age exposed to the richess of west limerick and Sliabh Luachra traditionnal music, an influence witch has become the cirnerstone of uniquely vibrant, passionate and emotive style of concertina playing. Now having toured extensively througouth Europe, Canada and America, performing at festivals such as Fleadh Cheoil na Herineann, Goderich Celtic Roots Festival, Celtic Colours and le Bono Winter School in both solo and ensembles capacities, Raphael is truly a world musician.
At the age of Seven Raphael Began Taking tin whistle lessons at his local comhaltas
branch, and soon afterwards progressed on to concertina.
Under the guidance of his teacher, Noel Hill, He developed proficiency in his art, and by fifetheen, was performing both nationally and internationally.
In 2006 Raphael was awarded the prestigious Lan Mara award, in recognition of oustanding achievement in national music examinations. In 2008 Raphael began studing at the Irish world academy of music and dance, Where he re wived a BA in Irish music dance qith first class honours after graduing in 2011.
In addition to his TTCT diploma in Irish traditional music teaching, Raphael also completed a professionnal Diploma in music education in 2012.
His versed approached to tutelage is not only a testament to his musical expertise, but demonstrates the patience and the emlathy of experience. He is a regular performer and tutor at Irish Roots and folk music festivals all ob
ver the world, and teaches and performs around the South West of Ireland.
