I do have students with all kinds of levels and goals, so I adapt my methods for each purpose, it's a part of the job I like the most, I can't get bored!
However, I do like to propose very pragmatic and efficient tasks in order to give skills which are straight away usable by the students. Amongst the methods in which I can find inspiration, I do like :
-The "Communication progressive du Française" collection, édition CLE international, which is very pragmatic and playful and allows the students to become quickly autonome in their day to day life.
- The "Objectif express, le monde professionnel en français" is also good when the purposes of the student is more about learning professional skills.
The content of the classes are very varied but the structure, which proove its efficiency, is often the same:
-we refresh what have been learned during the previous lesson, most of the time with an oral or written production, dependind of the goals of the student.
- we study new tools in order to be able to deal with a new situation (grammar, vocabulary...)
- we practice straight away french with the news tools we approached in order to properly learn them
- we decide which work could be done for the next lesson in order to settle what have been used during this lesson
As a TEF and TCF examiner, I'm able to built a proper training in order to make you be able to successfully pass this test with less stress. One of this exam which evaluate your level in french is often required to register yourself in a french university or to obtain a resident card. I do also write some DELF training on online platforms, so I do know very well this exam also.
Already familiar with the blended learning platform, the recent lockdown confirmed I'm confortable with online classes (Skype, Zoom, Webex...) and can give quality classes with these tools also.
I do also love to teach french to child and teenagers and I'm used to (work with them since 16 years now).
I do give some intensive classes time to time ( it can reach 35h/ week).
I began to teach french to foreigners in New-Zealand in 2007. Encouraged by my students, I decided to become a Litterature teacher when I came back to France (certified and worked for the governement). Since 2 years, I went back to my first love : to teach Français langue étrangère (FLE) to expats. I find it exciting to help students to assimilate skills in order to deal with day to day life or to deal with specifics topics in their professional life. I also like to help them with the french administrative part ( how to make a folder to find a flat, deal with the "sécurité sociale"...) and help them to discover our rich city life!
As I'm an official freelance, you will only pay half of the price of the classes. You will benefit of a "credit d'impôt" of 50 % for adults classes but also for academic support for the child. (article D7231-1 du code du travail). You can therefore pay me with CESU (universal service employment checks) and thus benefit from a tax reduction or a tax credit if you are not taxable this year, within the limit of a minimum ceiling of € 12,000 per year ( a tax benefit of € 6,000 per year).
The tenth hour is offered when you take a 10h pack.
The fifth is half price when you take a 5h pack
Summary if you use pre-funded CESUs (it's quite simple: declaration once a month):
- You find a private teacher
-You agree on the remuneration and the method of payment. You decide to pay the professor partially or entirely in pre-funded CESU;
-You register on the CNCESU website as a private employer;
-You choose your mode of declaration (online or by mail);
-You start to take courses;
-You pay the professor in pre-funded CESU;
- The professor registers on the CRCESU website as an employee in order to be reimbursed for pre-funded CESUs, that is to say to exchange these checks for money which will be paid into his account;
- Once a month, you declare online or by mail the net salary paid to the professor;
- Social security contributions are calculated and deducted automatically from your bank account;
-The teacher receives a certificate of employment equivalent to a salary slip;
-Once the salaried teacher has been declared, he receives a letter with his employee number and can therefore use it to register in the salaried space of the CNCesu site and access his salary summaries online;
-At the end of the year, the CNCesu sends you a tax certificate allowing you to benefit from the tax advantage. You must subtract from the total entered on the certificate the part of the pre-funded CESUs in which you have not participated and which will have been financed by your employer, your works council or any other social body.
If either I can't afford to reach your place because of too long trip, we can discuss a place to meet (I know nice and quiet coffees in most of the parisian disctricts) or discuss the price of the class in order to make it possible to meet and practice french.

Elle est très gentille. Il est facile de comprendre ses leçons. J'ai apprécié tous mes cours avec elle!
I have known Marine Ponelle for more than a year now. Marine was my french tutor and the first friend I made in Paris. I really appreciate Marine's efforts in understanding the learner's objective and putting in all her efforts to ensure the best learning experience in every session.
She has the ability to connect with students from any background. Her classes are very versatile and practical for eg., we had a class in McDonald's that helped me learn to place an order in french, another class was about enrolling in Pôle emploi, another one about auto-entrepreneurship in France and so on...
Along with the language she helped me learn a lot about the french culture and practices. Thanks to her, as this helped me a lot in my expatriation journey here. She never fails to ensures that her students make the most of every learning opportunity
Her instructional style is down to earth. I always felt her classes more like a co-learning experience rather than being tutored. Marine is one of the most talented instructors, I have had the priviledge to learn from. I wish her all the best in her future endeavours. Happy learning with Marine!
