Sabine is extremely knowledgeable, encouraging, warm, funny, and always devotes an incredible level of care to her teaching; as her student, I felt that she instilled in me a deep admiration and passion for the French language, which caused my my language skills to improve dramatically. She engages students at every French level with creative and compelling lesson plans - such as reading contemporary French works, discussing current events in French, and preparing thought-provoking discussion topics and writing prompts - and supplements these with robust technical lessons in grammar structure and vocabulary. Sabine genuinely knows how to challenge her students in order to develop their writing and speaking abilities, and she does so with utmost belief in her students’ abilities. What really makes her stand out as a tutor is how perceptive she is, and how willing and able she is to meet her students where they are. She recognized, for example, that I struggled with speaking, and tailored her teaching to help me feel more confident with spontaneous conversation in French. Through her lessons, my writing also became more complex/sophisticated, thanks to the constructive yet precise feedback that she delivered. I loved that she was always in tune with my specific needs as a student, and consistently adapted her teaching to address them.
