À propos d'Alexandre
Né et grandi à Londres, j'ai poursuivi mes études à Radley College, un pensionnat à Oxford où j'ai obtenu 10 GCSE's et 4 A-levels. Je suis diplômé de l'Université d'Édimbourg en lettres (Philo, Francais) avec mention très bien (2:1 distinction). Également, j'ai même fais un stage au New York Times et à l'International New York Times. Compétant, toujours à l'écoute, toujours un sourire...

Hello,
This class aims to provide a thorough understanding of the English language and how to navigate in and out of it in conversation. This class will start and end in English as a means to totally immerse and challenge ourselves — firsthand — with the linguistic obstacles that turn us inwards.
Originally from London, I'm a graduate of the University of Edinburgh, (2:1 Distinction) in Literature and have been living here in Paris for the past 5 years. I work in the arts as an actor and musician and so I aim to keep these lessons fun and engaging. This as opposed to an intellectual approach. At their core, my lessons will aim to be appealing to a formative mind whose ambition is to learn English in a more modern way and through its association to culture. For that, YouTube, podcasts, articles, even screenplays will be an absolute necessity in my lessons.
Unlike French, grammar isn't as demanding in English, nor is it truly necessary. It is however a language that demands practice, consistency, and moreover a direct submersion into the intricacies, ‘the nooks and crannies’, of the English language.
The class curriculum is simple. We pick one topic a week and divide the class into 3 sections —
20 minutes of reading : Books, Articles...
20 minutes of listening : Videos, Podcasts...
20 minutes of practice : Conversation in English
I believe this format to be key in allowing the student to breathe steady through the lesson and not be bombarded with information that they might not be able to use in practice. Listening and reading are the essential elements of any learning process before one can dive into the conversation.
At the heart of it, my aim here is to provide something diverse and enjoyable where the students can feel comfortable learning and more importantly, enjoy themselves.
