I met Abigail as my flatmate in university 7 years ago and she is one of my closest friends up till today. From day one, she has been very consistent with showing her care and always looking out for me. Despite the times I may have let her down, she has always had patience and understanding towards me, which I believe is a key trait for any great teacher to have.

I also recommend her to be a great English teacher as when I first met her, one of the first things I noticed was how well spoken she was, and we have had quite a few funny experiences over the years where she would correct the way I say something.

With the big heart she has, I vouch for Abigail with a strong belief that she will be a reliable source of support to any student, with determination to see them progress. .

Abby is a very empathic person and is really patient.She and I met at UBC, she is a great friend and someone who always tries to help others in their time. Abigail is a hard-working, supportive and friendly tutor with excellent written and oral communication skills. She is patient and understanding which is an important aspect of teaching. As peers in Law School, Abi has helped me improve my writing which helped me achieve
higher grades. More recently, she has also helped me prepare for my interview presentation. I was successful in the interview and now work as a lecturer. Overall, Abi has the necessary skills to succeed as a tutor and would be an asset to the Superprof team.

Abi as a friend is remarkable in several ways. One of her best qualities by far is her empathy. She is incredibly aware of what other people may be going through and is able to pinpoint their feelings, making them feel at ease. I’ve seen her do this not only for me but also for friends she wasn’t even well acquainted with. This is such an important quality for a teacher, as students often cannot articulate what they’re struggling to understand.

Her academic rigor comes from her self-driven nature. In a way, I believe that drive to be better also maps to how she will always try to do better and ensure the best for her friends.

I believe this translates significantly to her tutoring journey, as she is not only self-motivated and wants to get the best out of herself, but she also knows what it takes for her students to get the best out of themselves. Bonus points that she’s already worked with kids building schools.
