À propos de Xavi
My name is Xavi. I'm from Catalonia & I have been teaching Spanish, Catalan & English all around Europe, North America, & the Middle East for the last 13 years.
I studied Theater at UCLA (even though I never graduated) and later on a double degree in English Literature & Linguistics... But once again, I was too big of a misfit to finish college!
So, I came back to my country, did a Master's degree in Catalan Philology & right now I'm preparing for a PhD in Philosophy.
Aside from coaching language learners around the world, I also work with universities & language schools in Spain, designing all types of dynamic materials/curricula for specific needs of students, language departments & colleges.
I also work as a freelance translator & editor with a number of publishers in Spain, Belgium & the US.

Whether you've just landed in Barcelona and you're still trying to make sense of an alien language which sounds like a blend of Italian, Spanish, and French or you have been living, studying or working in Catalonia, I can help you achieve your goals of learning and/or mastering Catalan, walk you through as you stumble upon strange consonants and complicated pronouns and take your hands along the way.
Learning a language is, unlike most other subjects, a full time job! But it doesn't have to be boring at all!
You can watch movies, listen to music, cook, eat, drink, & learn all at the same time! And that is the magic of language learning (or more precisely, language acquisition!)
As a language coach, my job is to help you start your language learning journey, provide you with the right tools, & watch you grow as you take your first steps!
