Hello!
I'm Rachel Sowrey, an experienced english tutor who has worked with French families as a garde d'enfant anglais, with children from 4 to 7 in English summer schools and giving lessons privately to students from 3 years old and adults. In my spare time I would like to help you or your children improve your english level in a friendly environment. The teaching method I use with my students is primarily direct, i.e, maintaining a conversation 100% in English (only speaking in French where necessary). It is very important to adapt a lesson to the student, their language goals and also there interests.
For children for example, it is key to motivate them with games, activities and songs that will intrigue them and help them see English lessons as a fun experience while covering the necessary base vocabulary and grammar.
For adults, some students are looking to improve their english level for work and so as well as covering the necessary grammar rules and conversation techniques, a lot of exercises are to be orientated around specific jargon.
I want students to feel comfortable to try, especially in conversation classes, and to make mistakes!
