Having studied at King's College London and Sciences Po Paris a few years ago, I'd like to pass on the best lessons I've learnt, particularly language learning through reading, text study and translation. Let's get passionate about cinema and literature and translate our favourite works together, your French will be sexier than Brad Pitt! So, what are we waiting for?

Learning through translation - that's what it's all about! I believe that studying texts and translating them is the most effective way of really learning how a language works. It's a real challenge that the secrets of translation offer us, because learning to translate a text correctly means first of all learning to read correctly, in an active way, i.e. to understand the levels of reading, the implied and unspoken meanings, and then to sublimate them better in another language. By association, your brain quickly and effectively integrates syntactic structures, turns of phrase and complex formulas. In fact, as well as improving your French, your English will become even better! Quite simply, we'll work at our own pace on a chosen extract, sentence by sentence, to gradually unravel the translation dilemmas we face. As we read, we'll work on pronouncing the words. Then, together, we'll try to build the best translation, thus considerably improving your written comprehension and expression. And don't worry, we'll be studying exciting modern texts, as well as your favourite films. Fun and popcorn, cinema and literature, linguistics and semantics, it's all going to be exciting, isn't it? I assure you it will!
