Alan has been an incredible tutor for our 11 year old for the past few months. We gave him very open agendas to work with her in terms what we hoped to see out of her flute lessons. For reference, she's in 5th grade and had only experiences playing a few notes and the few things she's learned from band.

Alan was able to evaluate her current skills, construct a lesson plan and work with her following the plan each week. Within the first few weeks, we noticed she's shown a lot more interest, confidence and is able to play a handful of songs that she chose with Alan.

Alan is a great teacher. He is very organized and knowledgeable, as well as patient and professional. Every lesson is planned, and he has been going with my pace with relevant homework. He also makes sure I have proper techniques and embouchure, even when it means I have to relearn something, in order not to have any issues down the road.

Alan is an amazing, kind, gifted and and experienced teacher. He intuitively knows how to engage the interest of small children and interest them in music theory. As a musician he is passionate about his instrument and shares his love of music with positivity and gentle encouragement.
