À propos de Manon
I am a French teacher, passionate about language, pedagogy, and the human connection that teaching makes possible.
I graduated from the École Normale du Brabant wallon, where I earned a teaching degree qualifying me to teach both French language and literature, as well as French as a foreign language.
French is my native language. I also speak English with functional fluency, and I am currently learning Spanish.
For seven years, I taught in a secondary school in Brussels, where I taught French literature, theatre, and French as a foreign language. Later, I worked as a pedagogical coordinator in a small primary school in Rwanda. I have also completed several language immersion programs, which have deepened my understanding of how languages are learned. Today, I teach French exclusively online. This way of teaching allows me to meet learners from all over the world and to design tailor-made lessons, always guided by creativity and curiosity.
Enthusiastic, curious, and spontaneous, I enjoy a wide range of interests that change a little with the seasons. Among them are theatre, reading, yoga, swimming, cinema, and hiking. I have been especially shaped by my travels — particularly my time in Rwanda and my journey along the Camino de Santiago — and by my discovery of the Freinet pedagogy, which transformed my approach to teaching and, more broadly, to the world. Literature, too, has taught me the importance of choosing words carefully.
What I love most about teaching is the connection I create with my students. Being attentive, without judgment, allows me to support each learner in their individual journey. For me, teaching is a space for sharing, discovery, and creativity — a place where learning and transmitting go hand in hand.

What I want to offer you is:
• A sympathetic ear and a relationship of trust between us. So that the lessons are truly enjoyable, and you feel comfortable enough to dare to speak French and make mistakes (it's normal to make mistakes, it's not a problem).
• Advice and tools that will help you progress quickly.
• Opportunities to practise speaking and get feedback.
How do I structure my lessons? The lessons are tailored to each student and offer tools developed over my years of experience.
I place particular emphasis on:
• Oral practice, based on short stories and anecdotes from everyday life,
• Creating a variety of activities based on authentic documents,
• Individualised feedback and follow-up to ensure progress,
• Vocabulary building, which I believe is essential when learning a language,
• Understanding grammar and how speech is constructed.
I would like to draw your attention to an important point: there is no secret to learning a language, nor is there a magic method. Learning a language takes time, lots of practice, and motivation. If you keep up your efforts, you will eventually reach the level you want.
