WANT TO LEARN ENGLISH?
Hi, I am from Washington D.C.
I am a student at the University of Maryland and currently am here in Nice as an exchange student. I am a politics major and I have won the fellowship program at the Princeton University as well.
I have more than five years of teaching experience.
I have taught at the private academy teaching ESL courses (English as Second Language) to students while giving the private tutors to individual students.
I have worked for the organizations like America Reads*America Counts, En Camino and CaRing programs, ESOL Conversation Program which were to help students with under grade level reading skills.
On average, my students' reading skills more than doubled after our semester together. Moreover, I have taught a student who recently immigrated to the US with very low English language skills. His average grade was C when I started tutoring him. At the end of our session together, his grade was raised to average of A.
Before starting the session, I examine the level of the student and plan the tutoring according to the level. We cover all prospects of English including grammar, pronunciation, comprehension, reading, writing and conversation.
For example, if the pronunciation is the main problem, we would practice listening and correcting the annunciation. We would go over what sound each letter makes and what sound different combinations of letters make. We would review words that make similar sound and apply those in context.
