Jean Singer/Songwriter Born to sing, Jean was raised in a music-filled environment singing gospel songs in church first in her native home Far Rockaway Queens, New York. She began writing and producing lyrics and melodies in 1986 and has sung for religious services, concerts, weddings, funerals, benefits and dedications on radio and television from New York to Florida. Jean recorded her first album, “Are You Tempted to Turn” in 1994 for which she wrote and produced four songs. In the same year she competed against more than 150 singers and groups in a Don Reid Productions contest at the renowned Grand Ole Opry of Nashville, Tennessee, placing third for her performance of a song she wrote entitled “He’s the One to Call”. Jean has traveled to Europe performing in France, Spain, Switzerland, Corsica, and Martinique, West Indies to name a few. She has appeared as a featured artist and back-up singer for such groups as American Gospel Singers, Heart to Soul, American Gospel Connection, Kevin Diggs and the French Revolution, Gospel Made in U.S.A., Gospel Voices, T.F. Gospel Singers, Divine Gospel Reunion, and Les PizPaz all of Paris. Jean has also done studio work for the comedian Anthony Cavanaugh of Canada, blues singer/guitarist Ron Symth of Paris, John Simms of Paris, producer/guitarist Kevin Diggs of Philadelphia, and the remake of the theme song for “The Crazy Horse” of Paris, Las Vegas, and London. Jean has been a guest singer with Linda Lee Hopkins of N.C., Marcel Boungo of Congo, and renown jazz and blues trumpeter Boney Fields of Chicago. Jean is currently the assistant director for the “Gospel Pour Cent Voix” choir of Paris. Jean sang for the Crescent City Jam benefit for Hurricane Katrina victims, and for Disney’s “The Lion King” showcase performed at the Museum of African Art of Paris. Jean has sung all over France and in several Paris venues such as The Charlie Birdie, Sir Winston’s Café, Galerie Renoma, Le Qin, The Tennessee, The Chameleon, the Trois Mailletz, and the American Church. Her voice is the one you hear reading the letter from the late Mrs. Coretta Scott-King, wife of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., to the American Church for their hospitality towards them in 1965, a documentary produced by the American Church of Paris. In 2006 Jean appeared in concert with two-time Dove Award winner Billy Gaines of Nashville, Tennessee. In September 2007, Jean and her group “Second Wind” were featured at the “BellNTone” Showcase produced by Terry Francois of Paris, shortly after which she made her first international television appearance from Paris, France on November 17, singing for the renowned international pastor, Benny Hinn of Texas, USA. “It’s allnthejeans”
